I'm a senior at the University of Maryland, College Park, pursing a degree in journalism and government and politics with a minor in geographic information science.

When I'm not in class, you can likely find me in The Diamondback's newsroom, where I'm the data editor. Last year, I worked as editor in chief to oversee more than 100 staff members of my university's independent student newspaper. I made long-standing editorial decisions about our coverage and policies and edited news, sports, opinion, data, multimedia and feature stories five nights a week.

I was most recently a data reporting intern at The Detroit News through the Dow Jones News Fund. I reported data-driven enterprise stories, created interactive graphics on deadline and coded web scrapers.

Last summer, I was a reporting intern for The Frederick News-Post through the Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Press Association's internship program. I covered a variety of breaking news, enterprise and data-driven stories across Frederick County.

I previously interned for Aviation Week in Washington, D.C., reporting on aviation, aerospace and defense. I covered topics such as national defense policy, aerospace research and workforce development in the space industry.

I'm working toward a career in data and computational journalism. I code in R, Python, HTML and CSS, analyze data in Google Sheets/Excel and make visualizations using Datawrapper and Flourish. I'm proficient in geospatial analysis with ArcGIS and QGIS, and I'm teaching myself JavaScript. I also coded and designed this website!
